Magnetic sorbent ExtraGen® is a water suspension of solid-phase magnetic particles based on iron oxide and silica. It intended for isolation and purification of nucleic acids from clinical and biological samples. The magnetic sorbent water suspension possesses «intermediate» sedimentation stability, important for the use of the material with automatic stations for DNA isolation. ExtraGen® sorbent are stable for heating, impacts of strong oxidizers and intensive mechanical procedures (centrifuging, dispersing etc.). The use of a special buffer solution allows storing the magnetic particles for a year at room temperature. The validation tests has shown that ExtraGen® are highly effective both for manual nucleic acids isolation and for methods involving automatic magnetic separation stations.
