Optical backbone cable with a central power element made of fiberglass rod in a polyethylene sheath, around which optical modules containing up to 24 optical fibers each are twisted, filling corners (if necessary), copper conductors in isolation, with an aluminum-polyethylene tape, in an intermediate polyethylene sheath, armor-proof galvanized round steel wires and polyethylene outer sheath. At the customer's request, the cables are made with an outer sheath of non-flammable polyethylene, with reduced smoke and gas emission and not emitting corrosive gaseous products during combustion and decay.
