The scope of Meteor-3M spacecraft includes the provision of units of the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, as well as other departments with operational space information for solving the following main tasks: analyzing and forecasting weather on a regional and global scale; analysis and forecast of the state of the seas and oceans; analysis and forecast of aviation flight conditions; analysis and prediction of the heliogeophysical situation in the near-Earth space, the state of the ionosphere and the Earth’s magnetic field climate and global change monitoring; emergency control; environmental monitoring of the environment, etc.
