In science and technology Neon is used in gas-discharge lamps, including the ones for advertising (in mixture with other inert gases pure neon gives red color, the rest is mixtures), photographic equipment, discharge power filters; in the production of lasers (mixed with helium); in liquid state it is used in cryogenic equipment as a cooler.
