JSC "State Research and Production Center named after M. V. Khrunichev"

The Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center was established by Order No. 421-rp of the President of the Russian Federation dated June 7, 1993 on the basis of two leading enterprises of the rocket and space industry in Russia - the Machine-Building Plant named after V.I. MV Khrunichev and the Design Bureau "Salute". The purpose of the creation of the SCSPC was the preservation, strengthening and development of scientific and technical potential, increasing the efficiency of the industry in the new economic conditions and entering the world space market. The history of the GKNPTs began much earlier, on April 30, 1916, with the construction of a plant in Moscow for the serial production of the first domestic cars. Over the past 100 years, it has been re-profiled several times to address the most important national problems, and has undergone a series of reorganizations. Three periods can be distinguished in its history: the automotive industry (1916-1923), the aircraft industry (1923-1960), the creation of rocket and space technology (from 1960 to the present).
